Happy Birthday, Shaky Knees! I think this was an amazing way to celebrate.
Here was my lineup this year:
Friday
- Grouplove
- Greta Van Fleet
- The Killers
Saturday
- Wilderado
- Futurebirds
- Babe Rainbow
- The Mars Volta
- Tenacious D
Sunday
- Trash Panda
- Father John Misty
- Hozier
- The Lumineers
Now let me explain. I missed Surf Curse and Spacey Jane on Friday due to an AP EXAM. sigh. Muse I hate. I am not ashamed to say I left early. And Sunday. Sunday was one of the best days EVER! Can you believe Father John Misty, Hozier, and the Lumineers all performed back to back?! And my personal favorite local psychedelic indie rock band brought me so very much joy. But who was my favorite set of them all, you ask? Much to my surprise, my answer to that was Futurebirds! I knew I loved them, but I thought that some of the bigger acts I had never seen before might captivate me more. Don't get me wrong, The Killers were AMAZING. Amazing sound, energy, stage presence, graphics, conFETTI, all the works. The Lumineers were of course as amazing as ever. When it's pitch black outside and they're in the middle of the crowd singing an acoustic set and you can hear every single person in the audience singing along, that's a magical moment. Yet I still had the most fun at Futurebirds! I was jumping the entire set because they are just so great and happy and awesome! #birdfam
